@FANHS_PA to host film screening + discussion with Dr. Judy Patacsil: "Silent Sacrifices: Voices of the Filipino American Family," on 21 August 2021 @ 3 pm EST

You're all -- plus your organizations, FANHS Chapters, friends, family - invited to join FANHS Pennsylvania Chapter at a film screening and discussion of "Silent Sacrifices: Voices of the Filipino American Family" with Dr. Judy Patacsil via https://bit.ly/FANHS-PA-Zoom on August 21st at 3 pm EST. Dr. Judy Patacsil, President Emerita of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS), is Faculty Equity Coordinator and Professor of Filipino Studies at San Diego Miramar College where she also founded the Mental Health Counseling program. Born in San Diego, California to pioneering Filipino immigrant parents, Judy is the lead author of “Filipinos in San Diego” and a current FANHS San Diego Chapter officer. As a licensed psychotherapist who holds a doctorate in psychology with an emphasis in culture and human behavior, Judy co-authored the accompanying guide book for the film, “Silent Sacrifices: Voices of the Filipino American Family,” and has given international workshops and presentations on its still relevant themes since the early 2000's. She is a proud daughter of Eugenio Patacsil (RIP), a posthumously awarded WII Congressional Gold Medal recipient; and Virginia Patacsil (RIP), a pioneering WWII war bride, who was honored as Mother of the Year (1963) by the Filipino Women’s Club of San Diego.
