The American farm labor movement has had a tremendous impact on the history of California. AB 123 would require the State Board of Education to include instruction on the role of immigrants, including Filipino Americans, in the farm worker labor movement in California.

Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) Announces its

15th Biennial National Conference in San Diego, CA, July 30-August 2, 2014


San Diego, CA—The Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS), the organization responsible for establishing October as Filipino American History Month, will hold its 15th Biennial National Conference from July 30-August 2, 2014 at the Kona Kai Resort and Hotel in San Diego, California. With the 2014 theme of “Kapwa: Moving Forward in Unity, the three-day intergenerational conference will feature research, interactive workshops,  films, plenary presentations, an authors’ reception, banquet and dance, children’s program and a pre-conference historical tour.  FANHS national conferences draw hundreds of scholars, community leaders, students, artists, writers, educators and many more.
